An article outlining new homes for Mariners reads, "Dean Jones with Realogics/Sotheby's International Realty, who works with Mariners players, says they are most interested in privacy, security and proximity to Safeco Field and the airport.

'They like that lock and leave lifestyle,' Jones said. 'They're obviously a great clientele to work with and they're super fun.'

Jones also points out that the players are in a favorable market for a short 2-3 year stint if they leave the team for any reason. Former Manager Eric Wedge purchased his South Mercer Island home in 2011 for $1.8 million. In 2014, Wedge sold the house for $2.4 million after leaving the team. Many players live on Mercer Island, while some prefer high rise condos in the downtown core."
